Hi I am Marisol Richardson but I do get called Mari unless I get in trouble then the full name gets out! Oh, how I remember the Nuns at Notre Dame calling out my full name; one too many time! I live in Northern California with my husband Stephen and my wonderful two sons. I have been going to all types of concerts for the past 30 years. I am 44 now and love all types of music with the little exception of some Rap. It is amazing to say, “I love music and to have it as a job is a bonus!”

My life motto Know Music = Know Life,   No Music = No Life!

Music Junkie Press is set to launch our webzine and app late this year. So stay tuned for more of a fix for your addiction to music!!

Interview with Austin John Winkler, his return to music is just the beginning

July 24, 2022

We recently had the opportunity chat with solo artist Austin John Winkler (former Hinder vocalist) and we are excited for his return to music. He had returned to music by releasing Superjaded earlier this year and it truly rocked!  The stage is bright for Winkler and the music scene welcomes his return. Check out our interview below:   * * * * * * * We wanted to thank you for your time to talk with us. American Dreams is now out and it is a stellar anthemic track. You blew us away. Can you tell us about that song and how it came about?   Yes, absolutely. I wrote that song, to begin with I had that little acoustic guitar reverb thing, that guitar riff in my head so I put it out on guitar and then you know, I like to think the best song is kind of just like “spit” out of me. To be honest, it is more or less kind of like my homage of how much I love the [Read More]

Can you tell us about the recording process and how the song came about? The recording process was very exciting, we had heard a lot about Al (producer) and had wanted to work with him for a while.  We finally set some dates and got into the studio. The process was pretty standard we laid drums, bass,  guitar and vocals last. 4. Cool stuff! I’m a writer & photographer. I just got back into publishing what I love for a Uni paper where I teach. I began my music journalism in Nashville in the late 80s. Now I’m back at it again and live it!

My biggest regrets is when being around so many musicians that I didn’t take photos! My ex husband was a musician. I was too busy being a hostess! I do not want to ever regret not shooting a piece of history! The only photos I have if my grandfather, The Samba King” are all PR or album shots. ?. So now no regrets! You have some fab shots! I’m just getting going. A broken leg benched me for a bit. Hopefully I’ll be in Cali and will get to meet you! I’m in Houston. Best xx debs

    • Very cool that you are back to doing it! Writing and music have always been a lifelong passion. We lost our home and business in the 2017 firestorm and it has been a struggle to get back to writing as much. So major creative block but slowly getting through it all. Wish you all the best! ~ M. Richardson
